FeralFreq REAPER Extension
A smoother landing for Pro Tools users
Free to UseThe FeralFreq REAPER Extension adds familiar language, workflows, and over a hundred custom actions to make REAPER feel immediately comfortable for engineers coming from Pro Tools. This is the extension I wish existed when I made the switch.
Post-Production Ready
Built with dialog editing, sound design, and re-recording workflows in mind. Real tools for real work.
Editing Muscle Memory
Actions and behaviors that map closely to how Pro Tools editors think and work, reducing the mental translation layer.
Composable
Works alongside your existing REAPER setup. Use everything, or just the parts that make sense for your workflow.
What It Does
REAPER is incredibly powerful, but its terminology and defaults can feel foreign if you've spent years in Pro Tools. This extension bridges that gap with a focused collection of improvements that remove friction, restore muscle memory, and let you work the way you're used to.
- ~100 custom actions designed around Pro Tools workflows
- Familiar naming conventions for common editing and navigation tasks
- Razor Edit improvements for faster clip manipulation
- Timecode window for professional post-production work
- Simplified SubProject creation workflow
- Small quality-of-life fixes that add up fast
Many of these actions exist because they simply weren't available in REAPER when I needed them, or required too much setup to be practical. This extension collects them into one coherent toolkit.
Working between REAPER and Pro Tools? The optional Pro License adds direct session integration — export and render audio from REAPER straight onto your Pro Tools timeline, and import Pro Tools sessions into REAPER.
Free to Use — Register When You're Ready
The extension is completely free and fully functional. Once a day, a friendly popup gently invites you to register. Don't want to pay anything? That's totally fine — you'll just see that reminder once a day. If it earns a place in your workflow, registering removes the reminder and supports the work.
